Influence of Soil Properties on Soil Oribatid Mites in Different Agroecosystems
Abstract
Influence of soil properties indicated that the organic carbon, available nitrogen, zinc, iron, manganese, copper, porosity of soil and soil moisture were significant to highly significant positive relationship, while pH, electrical conductivity and bulk density had a significant to highly significant negative relationship with the soil oribatid mites in different agroecosystems. The highest value of abundance was recorded in banana (2.1272), while lowest value was recorded in fallow land (0.9630). The result of Simpson’s index was lowest in banana (0.1385) which makes the greater species diversity (0.8615), while the lowest species diversity was noticed in fallow land (0.4213) and (0.5787). The highest evenness was recorded in fallow land (1.1868) and lowest was noticed in teak (0.5218). Biodiversity park (10 species) showed highest species richness, while lowest species richness was observed in fallow land with two species.
